SWANNANOA, NC - Warren Wilson freshman
Ori Galloway was named the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Women's Basketball Player of the Week following a dominant all-around performance in the Owls' 84–82 road victory at
Division II Erskine College on January 15.
Galloway delivered a career night, pouring in a personal-best 40 points while playing 38 minutes against the Division II opponent. She shot an efficient 16-of-21 from the field and repeatedly attacked in transition and the paint, converting opportunities on both ends of the floor. Galloway also finished with eight rebounds and eight steals, creating constant pressure defensively and sparking momentum-shifting plays throughout the contest.
Her impact was especially pronounced late, as she helped fuel Warren Wilson's fourth-quarter surge. The Owls outscored Erskine 31–19 in the final period, with Galloway making key baskets, forcing turnovers, and drawing fouls as the game tightened down the stretch. Her 40-point effort stands as the seventh-highest single-game scoring performance in Division III this season.
The performance highlighted what has been a standout freshman campaign. Through 18 games, Galloway is averaging 17.8 points per game while logging 35.7 minutes per contest. She leads the Owls in scoring and steals, totaling 320 points and 69 steals on the season, while also contributing 5.1 rebounds per game. Her role as both a primary scorer and defensive catalyst has made her one of the most relied-upon players in the lineup.
Galloway's Player of the Week honor marks another milestone in her debut season and reflects her growing presence as a leader on the floor, capable of influencing games on both ends in crucial moments.
