DUE WEST, SC - The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team picked up an impressive road win on Thursday evening, defeating Division II Erskine College, 84–82, in a tightly contested match up at Belk Arena in Due West, South Carolina.
The game featured multiple lead changes and momentum swings, but the Owls delivered their strongest stretch of play in the fourth quarter, outscoring Erskine 31–19 over the final 10 minutes to pull away late.
Freshman Ori Galloway turned in a standout performance, scoring a career-high 40 points to lead all players. Galloway was efficient throughout the night and made her presence felt on both ends of the floor, finishing with eight steals as Warren Wilson pressured Erskine defensively and capitalized in transition.
Briah Clarke provided a key boost off the bench, finishing with 12 points and helping steady the Owls during critical stretches. Her energy and scoring punch were instrumental as Warren Wilson maintained pace in a back-and-forth contest.
The Owls used aggressive defense and fast-break opportunities to generate offense, particularly late in the game, as they pushed the tempo and forced turnovers in the closing minutes.
Warren Wilson will return to action on Wednesday, January 21, when the Owls travel to Lees-McRae College for their next contest.
