SWANNANOA, NC - The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team put together a strong all-around effort but came up just short in an 87–83 loss to Greensboro College on Thursday evening inside DeVries Athletic Gymnasium.
Warren Wilson set the tone early, taking a 24–18 lead after the first quarter behind efficient shooting and strong defensive pressure. The contest remained tightly contested throughout, featuring eight ties and 11 lead changes as both teams traded momentum across four quarters.
Freshman Ori Galloway led all scorers with 26 points while playing all 40 minutes. Galloway attacked the basket consistently and contributed six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Senior Moosie Lewis followed with 21 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, helping drive the Owls' offense throughout the night. Lewis was key during Warren Wilson's third-quarter surge, when the Owls outscored Greensboro 30–22 to regain the lead heading into the final period.
Freshman Kiera Littlejohn anchored the paint with 11 points and a team-high 12 rebounds, while Briah Clarke added 11 points and three assists. The Owls finished with 50 points in the paint and forced 28 Greensboro turnovers, converting those into 30 points.
Despite the strong performance, Greensboro capitalized late in the fourth quarter with timely baskets and free throws to secure the road victory.
Warren Wilson shot 42.7 percent from the field and went 15-of-25 from the free-throw line in the contest.
