BANNER ELK,N.C. – The Warren Wilson women's basketball team faced a tough NCAA Division II opponent on the road Tuesday night, falling 107-44 to Lees-McRae at Williams Gymnasium.
Despite the final score, the Owls showed flashes of fight and offensive rhythm, particularly in transition and in the paint.
Ori Galloway led Warren Wilson with 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds, playing all 40 minutes and attacking the rim consistently. Moosie Lewis added nine points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals, contributing across the stat sheet on both ends of the floor. Ellie Martin also finished with nine points, including a first-quarter three-pointer that helped spark a quick scoring burst.
The Owls found success in transition throughout the night, converting fast-break opportunities and finishing with 14 fast-break points. Warren Wilson also scored 26 points in the paint, showing an ability to get downhill against a higher-division opponent.
Briah Clarke provided a strong lift off the bench with eight points and active defense, while Hailey Ripley and Nesha Oliver combined for 10 rebounds in the post.
Warren Wilson battled early, closing the first quarter on a 14-22 margin and forcing turnovers that led to transition chances. The team continued to compete through all four quarters, finishing the game still attacking the rim and pushing the pace.
