Box Score With three upperclassmen and eleven underclassmen, the young Owls traveled to Atlanta to play an experienced NCAA D3 team at Oglethorpe University. The owls came out cold in the first five minutes but were able to stay within striking distance with great defense. With about five minutes left the Owls cut the lead to eight, but a couple of turnovers led to an eleven point halftime deficit. In the second half, the Owls came out hot cutting the lead to 6 with about 10 minutes left and 6 again with 8 minutes left, but once again back to back turnovers by the Owls allowed Oglethorpe to extend the lead again with a final score of 55-73. Junior Brent Davis and Freshman O'Darius Cade led the way with 14 and 11 points while Freshman Jerry Daye almost opened his playing career with a double/double posting 9 points and 9 rebounds.
