SWANNANOA, NC - The Warren Wilson College men's basketball team secured an 82–76 victory over Virginia–Lynchburg on Friday night at DeVries Athletic Gymnasium, using a strong first half to build separation before closing out the game late.
The Owls came out firing offensively, scoring 50 points in the opening half and shooting over 50 percent from the field. Warren Wilson knocked down eight three-pointers before the break and took a 50–35 lead into halftime, creating early momentum with ball movement and transition scoring.
Tajh Williams led the Owls with 22 points, connecting on four three-pointers while playing all 40 minutes. Archie Evans added 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds, and Khanye Bland finished with 11 points off the bench. Daniel Smith contributed a well-rounded performance with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, recording a triple-double.
Virginia–Lynchburg trimmed the deficit in the second half, but Warren Wilson responded with timely baskets and trips to the free-throw line down the stretch to preserve the lead. The Owls finished with 22 assists on 30 made field goals and generated 33 points from their bench.
The win moves Warren Wilson to 5–9 on the season and capped a solid home performance in front of the DeVries crowd.
