Swannanoa, N.C. - The Warren Wilson women's basketball team earned a late victory in a thrilling match against North Greenville Friday evening by a score of 67-65.
With the victory the Owls are 6-3.
Danasia Dumas led the Owls with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Two other Owls scored in double digits, Amber Godfrey with 16 points and Jada McCrimmon with 12 points. McCrimmon also added 9 rebounds. North Greenville led for the majority of the first half and at one point held an 11 point lead. The Owls however, were able to head into half-time down just three. Finally, the fourth quarter would prove to be in the Owl's favor. They were relentless in defending and limited the Crusaders to only 8 points. In the last three minutes, when the score was tight the Owls were able to go up by two and secure the victory as the clock ran out.
The Owls shot an impressive 61.5% (8-13) from the 3-point while the Crusaders shot just 31.8% (7-22). The Owls committed just seven turnovers and collected 35 rebounds as a team.
The Owls will make a quick turn around and travel today to Pippa Passes, Kentucky to face Alice Lloyd at 2 PM.
