Warren Wilson leads for most of the game in a 77-61 victory over the Bruins.
The Owls used a strong defensive effort in the win, holding the Bruins to 35% shooting in the game and just 4-20 from behind the arc. The Owls offense, meanwhile was hot, shooting 46% from the field and 32% from downtown. Wilson also hit 15-21 from the free throw stripe in the victory.
Unselfish play was another key factor in the Owls win. Warren Wilson finished the game with 16 assists on 26 made baskets. The Owls defense forced 15 Bob Jones turnovers on 11 steals. Warren Wilson also had five blocked shots in the game, four by Thomas Hay.
Ty Johnson led all scorers with 22 points on 7-14 shooting and 4-11 from three point range. Justin Gonyea was right behind him with 19 points on 6-10 shooting. Steven Horton Jr. also scored in double figures with 10 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.
The Owls even their record at 7-7 on the season and improve to 4-2 at home. Next up the Owls travel to Conway, SC to battle NCAA DI Costal Carolina on Thursday. Game time is 7:00 pm.
