Bobcats lead from tip to finish in a 84-67 drubbing of the Owls tonight.

Lees-McRae came out looking determined to get revenge on the Owls, who beat the Bobcats on their home court last season. Warren Wilson was sloppy in the opening minutes with seven turnovers and just two points in the first seven minutes as they trailed out of the gate 16-2. Lees-McRae held its biggest lead in the first half of 15 at 24-9 with 10:22 to go in the half. The Owls offense started to come together late in the first half as the Owls used a 18-11 run to cut the Bobcats lead to eight at 35-27 with 4:40 to go in the half.

The Bobcats would answer, however and took a 46-32 lead into the locker room. In the second half Lees-McRae would push the lead out to as many as 18 points and were able to hold off any Owls threat as the Bobcats pulled out of town with its fourth win of the season.

Lees-McRae was hot from the field for the entire night shooting 49% for the game, compared to 39% for the Owls, but it was turnovers that were the real difference. The Bobcats had 12 steals and forced the Owls into 17 turnovers which led to 21 points. The Bobcats bench also outscored the Owls bench 44-17.

The Owls were led by Ty Johnson who had 23 points on 5-11 shooting and 9-9 free throws. Justin Gonyea had 14 points on 3-13 and 7-8 from the stripe.

Warren Wilson falls to 6-7 on the season. They will host Bob Jones University on Monday at 7:00 pm.
