Warren Wilson improves to 2-0 at home in a 63-57 victory over Welch College.

The game started back and forth with Welch and Warren Wilson trading baskets in the first five minutes of the game. With 15:44 to go in the first half, Kelia McCurry hit a three-point shot to put the Owls up 7-4 and Warren Wilson would lead the rest of the way.

The Owls pushed the lead out to 12 at the half at 33-21 and came out strong in the second half, using a 9-0 run to take a 45-25 lead with 16:05 left to go in the game.

Welch would rally, however, over the last 4:55 using a 14-3 run to make the game tight late. Welch forced several turnovers on a full court press and were able to get to the foul line. But the Owls responded down the stretch and were able to hold off the Lady Flames.

Hall was a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line, while McCurry was 6-10 from the field and 4-6 from behind the arc. McCurry also had a season-best six steals. Hall had nine rebounds and five assists. Bodnar scored 15 points on 7-9 from the field and 7-9 from the free throw line.

Warren Wilson improves to 3-4 on the season. The Owls are off until December 2nd when they host Columbia International University at 7:00 pm.
