Winston-Salem, NC - The Owls traveled to Piedmont International University this past Tuesday and won, 84-50. This puts the Owls overall record at 3-6.
The game started slow for the Owls taking them the entire first half to wake up from the trip to Piedmont. The score at the end of the first was 35-28 in favor of Warren Wilson.
The second half was a different story as the Owls completely dominated and shot their lead up to 30.
"Our defensive intensity was the difference," says Coach William Monts. "We concentrated on getting stops and the offense took care of itself."
The Owls were led by Rashad Ali who had 17 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals earning a double-double.
Timmy Johnson had 16 points, 4 assists off the bench and Justin Gonyea added a solid 16 points, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block.
Ty Johnson led the team in assists with 8 and also chipped in 9 points at key times to spur the Owls big run.
Tyler Triplett had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist, Danilo Radonjic had 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal, and Timur Oktay had 8 points respectively.
"It was a solid win for our team after coming off of the D1 road trip," says Coach Monts.
The Owls play host to Oglethorpe on November 21st at 7:00pm.
