SWANNANOA, NC - The Owls dominated the Farm Bracket of the Hell or High Water 7's Tournament this past Sunday with a flawless 3-0 record, showcasing exceptional teamwork, skill, and determination.
Game 1: Victory Against Western Carolina (31-0)
In the opening match, the Owls came out strong and never looked back. Ella Knecht was a standout performer, scoring two tries and converting one of them. Sabine Costello-Sanders was equally impressive, adding two tries to her name and successfully converting two. Hannah Johnson also contributed to the win with a try of her own. The defense was impenetrable, ensuring that Western Carolina couldn't get on the scoreboard. The final whistle blew with a convincing 31-0 scoreline, a testament to our dominance on both sides of the ball.
Game 2: Dominating Wingate (30-0)
In the second game of the tournament, the Owls faced off against Wingate, and once again, the team showed no signs of slowing down. The final score was a commanding 30-0 victory, demonstrating strength on both offense and defense.
Verena Pate made her mark, scoring her first try in the tournament, an exciting moment for the team! Sabine continued her outstanding form, adding three more tries to her tally. Phebe Finch-Raymond and Ella also contributed to the scoreline, each adding one try. Warren Wilson's defense was airtight, ensuring Wingate couldn't find their way to the try zone.
Game 3: Farm Bracket Championship Victory Against Guilford (22-17)
Merritt Yoder was a defensive powerhouse, leading the charge and making key stops that kept Guilford from breaking through. Her leadership and relentless effort in the backline were crucial to the Owls victory. On offense, Ella continued to shine, scoring two tries and proving her consistency as a key contributor. Sabine made her impact with a penalty try, showcasing her skill and poise under pressure. Hannah also played an instrumental role, adding another try to her growing tally.
