Owls Face Tough Competition in 12’s Match Against Queens

SWANNANOA, NC - The Owls took on Queens University of Charlotte in a 12-a-side rugby match on Saturday, September 7th. Despite their determination, the Owls faced a formidable opponent and finished the match with a 0-66 loss.

Several Owls players stood out for their contributions on the field. Sabine Costello-Sanders, playing at flyhalf, led the offense with precision and poise. Moosie Lewis made significant strides, consistently breaking through Queens' defensive line. On the defensive side, Merritt Yoder's exceptional tackling anchored the team, demonstrating resilience in the face of Queens' relentless pressure.

Queens brought a level of physicality that the Owls were unaccustomed to, challenging the team to adjust and push their limits. The match was a learning experience, as the Owls look to build on their performance for the rest of the season.

Next up, the Owls will travel to Greensboro, NC, on Saturday, September 14th, to compete in a 7's tournament. The team is eager to regroup and show their growth in the upcoming games.
