Owls Take Second Place at Home Rugby Tournament

SWANNANOA, NC - The Owls hosted their final 7's tournament of the year against Emory & Henry College and Kennesaw State University.

First game of the tournament was against Emory & Henry College. Maria Poulos led the team with 4 tackles with Alona Fransen and Phebe Finch-Raymond following close behind with 3 tackles a piece. Maria Poulos, Ella Knecht, and Sabine Costello-Sanders all put one try on the board. The Owls ended the game with a 15-5 victory.

Next up, the Owls faced off against Kennesaw State. Ella and Sabine once again put up one try each. Despite the Owls offensive and defensive efforts, Kennesaw took the game 20-12.

Final match of the day was the championship game against Kennesaw. After a hard fought game the Owls ultimately lost 15-2, placing 2nd in the tournament.

The Owls will return in the fall for their first 15's season!
