MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The women's season completed their dual meet season against Pfeiffer in a shorted dual meet format this Saturday. With the Independent South Swimming Conference Championships just a short three weeks away, both teams used this as a tune-up opportunity.
Junior Lucy Crayton continued to shine for the Owls taking home a win in the 200 freestyle while contributing to the success of both the medley and freestyle relays. After setting an aggressive first half pace, she was able to maintain on back half to come away with a significant unrested season best.
The women's 200 freestyle relay was also a success with the foursome of Crayton, Kyra Collins, Habiba Ghalab and Perla Grenier nearly outlasting the Falcons. Crayton and Collins seized the lead into the halfway mark, but Pfeiffer's depth proved to be too much in the back half.
"Our team had a LOT of fun today. Since it was a ladies only meet, the dynamic was different and, I think, more powerful," said head coach Rebecca Westfall. "It has provided a great insight into how the two teams function slightly differently and an opportunity to further customize our culture and my own coaching."
