SWANNANOA, NC — Warren Wilson women's soccer battled hard at Hank Steinbrecher Field on Monday afternoon, but a pair of second-half goals from William Peace proved to be the difference in a 2–1 loss.
After a scoreless opening half, the Pacers struck quickly out of the break. Josie Tucker converted in the 46th minute to put the visitors in front, then added her second goal just six minutes later to extend the advantage to 2–0.
The Owls refused to go quietly. In the 84th minute, forward Ori Galloway broke through with a goal to cut the deficit in half, her team-high sixth shot of the match finally finding the back of the net. Despite a late push and several dangerous looks, Warren Wilson couldn't find the equalizer before the final whistle.
