SWANNANOA, N.C. — The Warren Wilson College cycling team is gearing up for a jam-packed fall semester, ready to build on its strong foundation while welcoming new faces to the program. With several first-year riders joining the roster and the continued expansion of the team's fleet of bikes, the Owls are positioned for another competitive season both regionally and nationally.
The team is excited to welcome back Assistant Coach Dan Ennis, who will once again lead the mountain bike squad this fall. Ennis brings a wealth of racing experience, a thoughtful approach to training, and an ability to connect with athletes that makes him an invaluable resource for the program.
The fall calendar kicks off with the SECCC mountain bike season, opening at Truett McConnell University. One of the highlights of the semester will be the Owls' co-hosted race with Brevard College at Ride Rock Creek, a nationally recognized venue that promises elite-level racing and draws competitors from across multiple conferences. Additional race weekends include stops at Lindsey Wilson College before culminating with the Conference Championships at Lees-McRae College. The season will conclude with a trip west to Grand Junction, Colorado, for the Mountain Bike National Championships, where Warren Wilson riders will test themselves against the nation's best.
As the calendar turns to late fall, the Owls will transition into gravel and cyclocross racing. A full slate of NCCX cyclocross events will provide opportunities for riders to sharpen their skills and compete in one of the region's most established series. The semester will wrap up at the Cyclocross National Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas, offering another chance for national-level competition.
Fans can follow the team's progress throughout the year on Facebook and Instagram, where results and highlights will be shared. Community support remains vital to the program's success, and donations to the Cycling Team (be sure to note "Cycling Team" on contributions) directly help keep the Owls rolling at full speed.
