The Warren Wilson Owls cross country teams delivered impressive performances at the Yeti Invitational in Shelby, North Carolina, yesterday. Both the men's and women's teams earned 4th place finishes in highly competitive fields, showcasing strong efforts and setting new personal records.
Men's Cross Country Results
The Owls men were led by standout Henry Berta, who placed sixth overall with a time of 29:44 in the 8K race. Senior Trevor Nail also had a great showing, finishing 10th. Freshmen Ian Trella and Grove Davis were the third and fourth finishers for the Owls, while senior Sam Kobylarz rounded out the top five, setting a 45-second personal record in the process. Newcomers Trust Shoko and Munashe Matumbi made their collegiate cross country debuts, finishing sixth and seventh for Warren Wilson.
Women's Cross Country Results
In the women's race, the Owls placed fourth in a field of 10 institutions. Freshman sensation Bella Sosa led the team, finishing eighth overall on the challenging 5K course with a time of 22:33. Teammates Ella Tatro and Aila Givens both set personal records, while freshman Lura Torres Benn, senior Tabitha McBrayer, and Marlise Pedisich packed together early to help lead the Owls through the first mile.
