In the fourth meet of the season at the Maryville College Cross Country Invitational, the Owls ran with passion – debuting a few new runners in the process!
In the men's 8k race,
Hullibutton Chinyama (FR) competed in his first collegiate cross country meet, finishing fifth for the team.
Henry Berta finished first for the Owls, earning 10th place overall in 29:45. Rounding out the top 5 for the team were Zack Schaumburg,
Evan Aronson, and
Will Cox. The Owls finished 5th as a team.
The women's team raced the 6k with two debut collegiate runners. Weronika Swojak (FR) led the pack to a 4th place team finish, earning 6th place overall with a time of 27:55. Running 3rd for the team, freshman Hailey Ripley also competed in her first collegiate race. She finished in 32:07, just a second behind senior teammate, Val Dorries. Rounding out the top 5 for the Owls were Tabitha McBrayer and Ella Tatro. Full results from Saturday's competition can be found at
