Box Score SWANNANOA, NC. – Pairs of goal in each half helped lead Brevard College to a 4-0 victory over the Warren Wilson men's soccer team on Wednesday evening.
"We are disappointed to be coming out with a loss," said WWC head coach Mathes Mennell, "I thought there were a lot of really good moments for us. Our ideas were good, and we had some nice moments of possession tonight, but they were more clinical than us in the end. We were unfortunate on the first half goals, with a counterattack from our set piece that went in and the second they capitalized on our mistake at the back and got to goal very quickly."
"Brevard are a very well-organized team, they did a good job of limiting our opportunities, but our decisions and our movements in the final third weren't quite as sharp as we hoped they would be."
Brevard opened the scoring in the 11th minute as Ryan Sinkamba finished a counterattack after a cornerkick by the Owls. They then doubled the advantage in the 28th minute as Adam Spencer finished after the Tornado forced a turnover deep in the Owls defensive half.
With Warren Wilson chasing the game in the second half, Ryan Lynch found space at the top of the box and was able to beat Solomon Love with a well taken shot that nestled just inside the back post.  Brevard then finished off the scoring in the 79th minute as Daniel Riberiro headed home from close range from a cross from Nicolas Maganini.
Parker Davis and Solomon Love combined for 6 saves on the night.
The Owls will return to the pitch on Friday, Sept. 17c, at they travel to face Berea College for a 7 pm match in Berea, KY.
