Owls Fall in OT to Southern Virginia

Box Score
The Owls matched up against the Southern Virginia University Knights on Wednesday evening after a full day of rain in Swannanoa. The conditions were wet and muddy with both teams fighting hard. The Knights scored first in the 3rd minute of the first half. The teams held even possession in the first half with several opportunities on both sides of the ball. Owls fought back before half time with a goal progressing off an Owl corner kick. Service and assist from freshman, Cat Ann Young was delivered perfectly into the six where a loose ball was netted by freshman Kai Robinson. This marks Kai Robinson's first career goal wearing the Owl jersey.

The game was evenly matched in the second half with Carrigan Causby coming up with several game-changing saves in the net for the Owls. Both teams battled into Over-Time where the Knights ended the game with a goal in the 5 minute.

This wraps up home games for the Owls for Spring 2021. Owls next play at Brevard College on Thursday, April 8th.
