SALEM, VA — The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team fell to Roanoke College, 98–51, on January 3 at the Cregger Center.
Roanoke jumped out to an early lead, opening the game with a strong first quarter and carrying a 49–18 advantage into halftime. The Maroons continued to extend the margin in the third period, while the Owls worked to find rhythm on both ends of the floor.
Ellie Martin led Warren Wilson with 15 points, adding five rebounds and six steals. Moosie Lewis finished with 10 points and five rebounds, while Briah Clarke contributed nine points on efficient shooting inside.
The Owls totaled 32 rebounds and forced 18 turnovers, converting 14 points off those opportunities. Warren Wilson also went 14-for-25 from the free-throw line in the contest.
Roanoke was led by Ashley Fowler with 21 points, as the Maroons shot 51.4 percent from the field and recorded 52 bench points.
The Owls will return home next as they host Greensboro College in their upcoming contest.
