SWANNANOA, N.C. — After a promising debut season was cut short by Hurricane Helene, the Warren Wilson College women's triathlon team is ready to charge back into competition this fall with renewed purpose and a new leader at the helm.
The Owls welcome Head Coach Jorge Marin, an Ironman World Championship finisher and veteran coach with over two decades of experience. Originally from Colombia, Marin has guided athletes to success on the international stage and built his own triathlon program from the ground up. His focus this season: unlocking each athlete's full potential and fostering a championship mindset.
Six athletes return from last year's inaugural roster, bringing valuable race experience and team chemistry. The squad will look to fill the gap left by three graduating seniors, leaning on its core returners to set the tone in training and competition.
Warren Wilson opens its second campaign at the Buc Cup in Johnson City, Tennessee — an early test that will set the tone for the months ahead. The Owls aim to use this first race as a springboard, building momentum toward their NCAA triathlon goals.
With discipline, teamwork, and a sharpened competitive edge, the Owls are poised to make their mark in collegiate triathlon and turn unfinished business into a season to remember.
