WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team competed on the road Friday afternoon, falling to Salem College at Varsity Gym.
The Owls opened the game strong, jumping out to an early lead and holding a 17–15 advantage after the first quarter. Warren Wilson continued to push the pace in the second period, but Salem edged ahead late to take a narrow halftime lead.
Salem used a third-quarter run to build separation, outscoring the Owls 19–10 in the frame. Warren Wilson responded with a solid fourth quarter, matching Salem with 17 points over the final ten minutes, but was unable to close the gap.
Ori Galloway led all scorers with 18 points, going 9-of-15 from the free throw line while adding seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Tatyana Lewis followed with 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals, while Ellie Martin added 10 points.
Briah Clarke and Kiera Littlejohn each pulled down five rebounds, helping the Owls finish with 35 total boards. Warren Wilson also generated 16 fast-break points and 22 points off turnovers.
Salem was led by Nicole Hester's 16-point, 13-rebound performance, while Amy Velediaz-Pedroza added 15 points and seven assists.
Warren Wilson continues its season as the Owls look to carry forward strong individual performances into upcoming competition.
