DANVILLE, VA — The Warren Wilson College men's basketball team fell 96–69 to Averett University on December 10 at the E. Stuart James Grant Center in the final game before the Christmas break.

Averett built a 41–32 lead by halftime and extended the margin in the second half, shooting efficiently from the perimeter and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities to pull away.

Tajh Williams led the Owls with 18 points, adding four rebounds. Isaac Allen finished with 12 points, while Jordan Moore contributed 11 points and six rebounds. Nasir Cotton added 10 points off the bench, providing a lift on both ends of the floor.

Warren Wilson shot 37.9 percent from the field and went 13-for-16 from the free-throw line. The Owls scored 32 points in the paint and added 16 fast-break points while forcing 17 points off turnovers.

Averett was led by Mason Mitchell with 27 points, including six three-pointers. Jackson Sellars added 20 points, and the Cougars shot 50 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from three-point range in the contest.

The Owls will break for the holidays before returning to action on January 6 against Piedmont University.
