SWANNANOA, N.C. — Warren Wilson women's basketball hosted Maryville College on Monday evening inside Devries Gymnasium, battling through a challenging first half before mounting an impressive offensive surge in the third quarter. The Owls outscored the Scots 23–16 in that stretch, showing resilience and momentum-building energy despite Maryville maintaining the overall edge.
Maryville opened the game efficiently from the field, taking a 22–14 lead after the first quarter and building a 47–23 advantage by halftime. The Owls responded immediately out of the break with one of their best offensive periods of the season, hitting 10 field goals in the third quarter and finding a rhythm from both the perimeter and in transition.
Martin Explodes from Three-Point Range
Sophomore guard Ellie Martin delivered a standout performance, scoring 21 points on 5–8 shooting from three while adding 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. She ignited the third-quarter run with back-to-back threes and continued to stretch the floor throughout the night.
Lewis Stuffed the Stat Sheet Again
Moosie Lewis contributed 16 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals, orchestrating offensive possessions and creating scoring opportunities in transition. Her pace helped fuel the Owls' second-half push, including a fourth-quarter surge where Warren Wilson scored 21 points.
Galloway Shows Composure in Heavy Minutes
Freshman Ori Galloway played all 40 minutes and totaled 13 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals, attacking the paint and generating second-chance looks with her activity on both ends.
