GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team put up a determined effort but ultimately fell to Bob Jones University 66-50 on Saturday at Davis Field House.
The Owls found themselves in an early deficit as Bob Jones surged ahead with a strong first quarter, outscoring Warren Wilson 20-8. Despite a solid second quarter in which the Owls outscored the Bruins 14-9, Bob Jones regained control in the second half to secure the win.
Moosie Lewis led the charge for Warren Wilson, finishing with 16 points and five rebounds. Weronika Swojak contributed a strong presence in the paint with 11 rebounds and five points, while Jordan McGhee provided a spark off the bench with nine points.
The Owls struggled from beyond the arc, going 0-for-15 from three-point range, but they remained aggressive on the defensive end, tallying 14 steals and forcing 28 Bob Jones turnovers.
Bob Jones was led by Anna Layne Wylder, who knocked down five three-pointers en route to a game-high 17 points. Faith Hayward added 15 points and four assists for the Bruins.
Despite the loss, Warren Wilson showed resilience and will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they continue to build momentum for the rest of the season.
