SWANNANOA, NC – The Warren Wilson women's basketball team put up a strong fight in front of their home crowd at DeVries Gymnasium but ultimately fell 77-71 to Toccoa Falls on Saturday evening. Despite a tough third quarter, the Owls showed resilience with a late rally that nearly closed the gap.
Moosie Lewis led the offensive charge with an impressive 31-point performance, adding 11 rebounds and six steals to her stat line. Weronika Swojak contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, while Ellie Martin added 12 points, including three three-pointers.
The game remained competitive throughout, with Warren Wilson keeping pace in the first half and trailing by just four points at halftime. A challenging third quarter saw the Owls score only seven points, allowing Toccoa Falls to extend their lead. However, Warren Wilson responded in the fourth with a 28-point effort, bringing the game within reach in the final minutes.
The Owls will look to build on their strong finish as they prepare for their next match-up against Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC.
