NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Warren Wilson women's basketball team faced a formidable Christopher Newport squad on Saturday afternoon, falling 103-48 at the Freeman Center. Despite the outcome, the Owls showed determination and resilience against one of the top teams in the Coast-to-Coast conference.
Moosie Lewis led Warren Wilson with 12 points, connecting on three shots from beyond the arc. Ellie Martin contributed 11 points while adding six rebounds and five steals. Jordan McGhee and Hailey Ripley chipped in six points each, showcasing the team's depth.
Though the Captains took control early with a strong first half, the Owls fought back in the third quarter, putting up 19 points and improving their shooting efficiency. The team also demonstrated defensive intensity, forcing 12 steals and battling on the boards.
