Warren Wilson Women's Basketball Falls to Oglethorpe

ATLANTA, GA - The Warren Wilson Owls women's basketball team faced a tough challenge on the road, falling 102-66 to Oglethorpe University at Dorough Field House in Atlanta, GA. Despite a strong effort, the Owls were unable to keep pace with the Stormy Petrels' high-scoring offense.

Warren Wilson (0-12) showed resilience throughout the game, with standout performances from Moosie Lewis, who led the team with a double-double, scoring 23 points and pulling down an impressive 19 rebounds. Zoey Gore provided a spark off the bench, adding 15 points, including two three-pointers and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Ellie Martin contributed across the board with six points, five rebounds, and four steals.

The Owls started strong, scoring 19 points in the first quarter but trailed 27-19 after Oglethorpe's hot shooting start. The Stormy Petrels extended their lead in the second quarter, outscoring Warren Wilson 22-12 to take a 49-31 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, Warren Wilson put up a fight, scoring 20 points in the third quarter behind aggressive play from their forwards, but Oglethorpe's consistent scoring kept them ahead. The home team capitalized on their opportunities at the free-throw line, converting 31 of 37 attempts.

Head coach Robin Martin remained optimistic after the game, praising the team's effort. "We saw some great individual performances tonight, and the team never gave up. We'll continue to focus on improving our execution and consistency," said Coach Martin.
