Owls Struggle Against Brevard Tornados in Home Matchup

SWANNANOA, NC — The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team faced a tough test on Tuesday evening, falling to the Brevard Tornados 81-33 at Devries Athletic Gymnasium. Despite the scoreline, the Owls showed moments of determination and effort in the face of a strong opponent.

Brevard set the tone early, taking a 19-8 lead after the first quarter and extending their dominance throughout the game. The Tornados utilized their size and depth, scoring 36 points in the paint and pulling down 63 rebounds to control the game from start to finish.

  • Moosie Lewis led the Owls with 8 points, including a three-pointer, and grabbed 5 rebounds in her 21 minutes on the court.
  • Weronika Swojak made an impact off the bench with 7 rebounds and 4 points.
  • Ellie Martin contributed 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while Zoey Gore added 6 rebounds and 2 points.

Brevard's balanced attack featured standout performances from Analee Morris, who scored a game-high 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, and Josie Hester, who added 13 points, including three triples. The Tornados' bench also contributed significantly, scoring 44 points in the victory.

Warren Wilson's struggles from the field proved costly, as the team shot just 15.5% overall and 5% from beyond the arc. Despite the loss, the Owls fought hard on the boards, pulling down 41 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end.
