SWANNANOA, NC - The Owls had yet again another rematch, where they took on the Johnson and Wales Wildcats. The Owls took a quick lead and won the first set 25-23. The Wildcats came out in the second set winning 21-25. The Owls came back even stronger taking the next two sets to win the game 25-22, 25-22.
"I am so proud of this team. All the hard work they have been putting in finally paid for them to get their first home win in program history.We came out ready to play. We knew we had to stay ahead of them. There were a couple times when we let things slip through our fingers. But we never gave up she kept pressing forward.We played like a team and head each others backs the whole time.Johnson and Wales never gave up. It was a fun game to be a part of." said head coach Kristy Kamer.
The Volleyball team would also like to thank all the faculty and students who took the time out of their fall break to come and support. Go Owls!
HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman setter Vera Pandolfo led the team in assists at 26. Along with 4 aces and 7 digs
- Junior outside hitter KJ Helinsky had a season high of 27 kills along with 8 digs.
- Freshman libero Lilian DeMeglio totaled 15 digs along with 2 aces.
