Warren Wilson College

Brent Western is a first-time collegiate coach as he joins the Warren Wilson College Men's Basketball staff for the 2024-2025 season.

Coach Western brings a strong analytical background and immense passion for coaching to the Owls coaching staff.  Through his partnership of analytics, knowledge, and player development, Western is committed to supplementing a strong Owls program and furthering their development on and off the court.  His ability to utilize advanced analytics in game planning is among the many skills he will bring to Warren Wilson this year.  

Western has spent the last 4 years heading up the rejuvenated Tarpon Springs Spartans on the West Coast of Florida, resurrecting a proud program with tradition and establishing them as a recent success story. He also launched his own travel basketball program, Suncoast Swish, in the same geographical area. His desire to prepare players for life on and off the court continues to move forward as he not only has had success in the win column, but has also furthered players in their dreams to continue playing basketball at the highest levels.  

Coach Western comes from a professional background as a Chief Compliance Officer and Consultant in the Financial Services industry, an area he has excelled in, beginning in 2005.  

His analytical background, passion for helping people, and desire to succeed make him an ideal match for an up and coming Owls squad.
