LaGRANGE, Ga. — Warren Wilson College battled to the final seconds Saturday afternoon, but LaGrange College held off the Owls for a 3-2 victory. With the loss, Warren Wilson moves to 1-5-1 on the season.
Warren Wilson struck first when Dallas Hayes found the back of the net in the 25th minute. Facundo Escalante picked up the assist as the Owls took a 1-0 advantage. LaGrange answered just before halftime when Kenny Pameni converted a penalty kick at the 44:23 mark, sending the teams into the break tied at 1-1. boxscore_20260927_0512
LaGrange took its first lead in the 67th minute when Pameni scored his second penalty-kick goal of the match. Jacob Sagstuen extended the Panthers' advantage to 3-1 in the 75th minute off an assist from Clay Kafsky.
The Owls continued to push forward and generated several late opportunities. Eric Vileda put shots on goal in the 84th and 86th minutes before Dylan Keene forced another save with 26 seconds remaining.
Warren Wilson broke through moments later. Hullibutton Chinyama scored with just 23 seconds left in regulation off an assist from Keene, cutting the deficit to 3-2, but the Owls ran out of time before finding an equalizer.
LaGrange held a 23-13 advantage in total shots, while the Owls put eight of their 13 attempts on frame. Both teams recorded six goalkeeper saves. Warren Wilson finished with two corner kicks compared to four for LaGrange. Will Flory made five saves in 78 minutes in goal for Warren Wilson, while Connor O'Leary recorded one save over the final 11:42.
