SWANNANOA, N.C. — The Warren Wilson College men's basketball team fell 95–73 to Southern Virginia University on December 2 inside Devries Athletic Gymnasium.
Southern Virginia set the tone early, building a 53–39 lead by halftime behind efficient shooting and control of the paint. The visitors maintained the margin in the second half, extending the lead as the game progressed.
Jordan Moore led the Owls with 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting, adding five rebounds and three assists. Daniel Smith followed with 18 points, while Alec Hilliard provided a spark off the bench with 13 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc.
Warren Wilson shot 48.1 percent from the field and connected on 50 percent of its three-point attempts. The Owls also scored 34 points in the paint and received 37 points from the bench.
Southern Virginia was led by Hyrum McConkie, who recorded 23 points and 13 rebounds. Tillman Johnson added 16 points, and Jude Ballstaedt finished with 14 as the Knights shot 53.7 percent from the field and 48 percent from three-point range.
