Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Owls Show Fight on the Road in 62–50 Battle at Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, N.C. — Warren Wilson women's basketball continued its early-season road stretch with a hard-fought matchup at Pfeiffer University on Sunday afternoon, falling 62–50 in Merner Gym after a competitive start and several strong individual performances.

The Owls opened with steady scoring from multiple players, trailing just 17–12 after the first quarter and remaining within striking distance at halftime, down 36–26. In the second half, Warren Wilson held Pfeiffer to just 10 points in the third quarter as the defense tightened, but shooting struggles (25% from the field overall) made it difficult to close the gap.

Galloway Continues Strong Start to Rookie Season

Freshman Ori Galloway once again led Warren Wilson, finishing with 17 points, 5 steals, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds while earning 17 trips to the free-throw line. Her aggressive drives, ability to draw contact, and disruptive defense kept the Owls competitive throughout the afternoon.

Lewis Posts Double-Double

Tatyana "Moosie" Lewis delivered a standout performance inside, recording a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She added 4 steals and provided critical second-chance opportunities, especially during the Owls' third-quarter push.

Additional Contributions

  • Ellie Martin added 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and played a team-high 32 minutes while helping anchor the defensive rotations.
  • Jordan McGhee gave the Owls a spark off the bench with 7 points and strong rebounding effort.
  • Kiera Littlejohn pulled down 7 rebounds, contributing key minutes on the interior.
  • Briah Clarke, Twig Barnes, and Marielle McNeal rounded out the scoring with timely defensive plays and paint touches.

Despite the loss, Warren Wilson's defense forced Pfeiffer into 30 turnovers and held the Falcons to just 11% shooting in the third quarter. However, Pfeiffer's early shooting efficiency and advantage on the glass proved decisive.
