Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Owls Show Offensive Depth in Road Matchup at Sewanee

SEWANEE, TN — Warren Wilson women's basketball hit the road on Saturday for a midday matchup at Sewanee, turning in a strong offensive performance highlighted by balanced scoring, aggressive rebounding, and multiple double-figure contributors. The Owls posted 76 points — their second-highest total of the season — while pushing the pace throughout the afternoon inside Juhan Gymnasium.

Sewanee opened the game with a hot perimeter stretch and built a first-quarter lead, but the Owls responded steadily, scoring 20 in the second quarter and 21 in the third while competing possession-for-possession through the middle stages of the game. Warren Wilson continued attacking the paint and the offensive glass, finishing with 40 paint points and 13 second-chance points.

Lewis Leads the Way with 17

Moosie Lewis delivered another complete performance, finishing with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in 32 minutes. She scored in all four quarters and directed much of the Owls' transition offense, especially during a strong third-quarter run that cut into Sewanee's lead.

McGhee Posts Career-High 16

Jordan McGhee had her most productive scoring night of the season, totaling 16 points on an efficient 7–13 shooting while grabbing 7 rebounds. She sparked early momentum with offensive rebounds and followed with multiple interior finishes that kept the Owls within range in the first half.

Galloway Provides 10 Off the Bench

Freshman Ori Galloway added 10 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 rebounds in 20 minutes, giving Warren Wilson a boost with her speed in the open floor and her ability to create shots in the paint.

McNeal and Martin Stabilize the Starting Group

  • Marielle McNeal scored 8 points with 5 rebounds in 17 minutes, finishing efficiently around the rim each time the Owls got out in transition.
  • Ellie Martin added 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals, continuing her strong all-around production, particularly on the defensive end and in late-clock situations.

  • Nesha Oliver knocked down two threes and finished with 8 points.
