FERRUM, VA - Tuesday night saw the Owls fall to rising NCAA Division II opponent Ferrum College. Ferrum controlled the game throughout. The normally scrappy, energetic, resilient Owls couldn't summon their normal activity level as the Panthers rode hot shooting and a raucous home crowd to victory.
In an otherwise disappointing performance, two Owls freshmen made huge contributions.
Peyton Gonzales started the game and led all Owls scorers with 23 points on elite efficiency.
Samuel Eno also put his imprint on the game with 11 points and 4 rebounds.
Slim Hines was the only other Owl in double digits, with 13 points.
No rest in sight for the Owls as they look ahead to Thursday's home matchup against NCAA Division II opponent, Erskine. That game is followed by the Owls going on the road to reignite their rivalry with Brevard College Saturday.
