Warren Wilson College Rises Strong in the Wake of Hurricane Helene

SWANNANOA, NC – In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, our coaches, staff, and student-athletes have been truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of thoughts and support from our community. The impact of this kindness has been profound, and we are deeply appreciative of everyone who has reached out.

As we come to terms with the significant damage that has affected our region, I have been privileged to witness the incredible unity displayed by our faculty, staff, administrators, and students. Together, we have lifted each other up, strengthening both our campus and the surrounding community. This recovery will require a team effort, and we are committed to it.

Many of you have asked how you can assist during this time. In response, Warren Wilson College has established the Post-Helene Fund for Recovery and Renewal. We are deeply thankful for your support and generosity. If you would like to contribute, please visit the following link: https://www.warren-wilson.edu/giving/make-a-gift/

Our student-athletes chose "LEAVE IT BETTER" as the theme for WWC Athletics this year—a message that could not be more fitting in light of the challenges we now face. We are determined not only to restore, but to improve Warren Wilson College and leave it in a better place. I look forward to brighter days ahead as we engage with the recovery efforts.

Rest assured, we are working closely with the NCAA to minimize any disruptions to our student-athletes and their athletic experiences. Please continue to check our website for the latest updates on Warren Wilson Athletics.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support.
