DEMOREST, GA - After taking an early lead, the Owls dug themselves an insurmountable deficit by turning the ball over 20 times in the first half against the Piedmont Lions. The Lions put the game away with a 25 point scoring run near the end of the first half.
Despite the challenging night, two freshmen,
Jason Hines Jr. and
Ibraheem Essader, flashed their great potential. Hines made an early impact on the game with his aggressiveness attacking the paint and Essader showed off his pretty shooting stroke and touch around the basket. Hines and Essader each scored 10 points, both scoring highs two games into their collegiate careers.
The Owls look to bounce back for their home opener Saturday afternoon, November 18, against Methodist. The Owls will try to show their bright future on the court while Owl fans are encouraged to celebrate the home opener by wearing sunglasses for Saturday's themed showdown.
