Box Score MARYVILLE, TN. – The Owls fell 4-0 to Maryville College in men's soccer action on Tuesday night.
"We played a very good Maryville team tonight," said WWC head coach Mathes Mennell, "We had some very bright moments but anytime you give away fouls in dangerous spots, you run the risk of being punished for those fouls. To concede twice from set pieces are harsh reminders of keeping our discipline defensively."
Maryville opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Davis Clothier. The Scots then doubled their advantage in the 41st minute as Marshall Palmer scored from a freekick just outside the area. With Warren Wilson chasing the game in the second half, Austin Vinyard scored from the spot as the Scots earned a PK in the 57th minute. Maryville then finished off the scoring in the 79th minute as Brooklyn Muccillo headed home from close range from a cross from Jorge Graniel.
The Owls will return to the pitch on Thursday, 23 Sep, at 4:30 pm as they welcome Methodist to Warren Wilson.
