Lady Owls Catch the Blues

The Lady Owls returned to the court for the first time in exactly 365 days and faced NCAA D2 opponent Bluefield State. Bluefield State began its season in November and entered the contest 5-10.  The Owls were able to hang relatively close during the first half, but the 33 turnovers forced by the Blues would prove to be too much to overcome.  The Owls offense was paced by freshman, Tatyana Lewis and Malaka Elix both of which had 9pts.  "It is hard to simulate a real game in practice so I knew the pace would take us some time to adjust too. This is only our first game, we saw some good things and we saw some things we need to work on.  In the end I am just thankful to get the opportunity to coach this team this year, they have faced so much adversity and have never stopped showing up." Coach Martin said about the game.  The Owls will travel to Bluefield State on Thursday.
