Box Score SWANNANOA, NC. – Mississippi University for Women rode a strong end to the first half en-route to a 5-1 victory over the Owls Monday afternoon. MUW opened the scoring in the 13th minute as Reggi Pech was able to score from a free kick following a WWC foul. MUW's Vini Lopes scored his first of three as he headed home in the 33rd. MUW then scored right out of the halftime break as Paulo Carneiro finished a breakaway in the 48th.
Warren Wilson pulled one back through Will Feehan's 20 yard effort in the 60th. Vini Lopes added two more goals in the 78th and 88th to provide the final 5-1
"Always a great occasion to honor our seniors, but certainly bittersweet not to send them out with a win" said WWC Head Coach Mathes Mennell, "I thought we had some nice moments but our mistakes that led to their goals came at really inopportune times in the match. MUW did a good job of catching us whenever we tried to really get hold of the game."
