In front of a loud, packed audience at DeVries Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, the Warren Wilson College men's basketball team earned their fourth straight win, knocking off Crown College 102-60.

Despite the final outcome, it was the visiting Crown College who got off to a fast start, with good outside shooting against the Owls. The Owls would quickly find their rhythm and take the lead. Having valuable depth on the bench, Barringer used all of his available players in the first half contributing to the 51-33 lead at half-time.

In the second half, the Owls continued to press and run the court. Crown College responded full of energy and effort but in the end it wasn't enough as the Owls pulled away to seal the victory.

An excited but still very locked in Anthony Barringer stated, "These guys are just having fun playing the game they love so much. We take a business approach to everything and these young men have shown time and time again that they mean business. Our motto is "Whatever it takes" and they are doing whatever it takes to be victorious. This is vintage Warren Wilson basketball. As a coach and an alumni, I'm glad to see these young men play with passion and fire that they are playing with. We will continue to ride this wave and see where it takes us. We want to go 1-0 everyday and we did today, on our record and in our locker room. As Thomas Hay would say so profoundly, winning is fun!"

11 players put points on the board for the Owls. Justin Gonyea, who is currently ranked 1st in the USCAA in 3 point percentage, led the Owls in scoring, pouring in 20 points in 19 minutes, and 5 assists, finishing 5-5 from 3. Fellow 3-point sharpshooter Tyler Triplett, who is currently ranked 7th in 3 point percentage, finished with 18 points (4-6 from behind the arc). Senior Timmy Johnson brought a big spark off of the bench, finishing with 16 points on 7-9 shooting from the field and 2-3 from behind the arc.

This win puts the Owls back at .500 as they are now 11-11. This also marks the third straight game that the Owls have eclipsed the 100 point mark, and the sixth this season.

The Owls are on the road for their first of three games next week, taking on Welch College Monday. Tipoff is at 6:00 PM CST.
