The Warren Wilson women's basketball team hosted the visiting #4 USCAA DI ranked Berea College today losing in a thrilling game, 72-74. With the loss the Owls are 11-11 on the season.
Berea College did not waste time getting on the scoreboard and setting the tone of the match. The Moutaineers led at the end of the first quarter 13-18.
The Owls would finally take the first lead of the game in the second quarter with a cruical 3-point shot by freshman
Danasia Dumas. The Owls continued to find success in second quarter with quick passing and great shooting leading by 10 at the half, 41-31.
Berea Collge gained momentum in the third quarter and closed the gap. The Mountaineers would take the lead, 54-56 at the end of the third quarter.
In an exciting fourth quarter, with the lead changing back and forth, it was the Mountaineers who would seal the victory 72-74.
Your #12 ranked Owls hit the road for the next two contests. Monday, February 1st they take on Allen University. Tipoff is at 6 PM.
