The Owls traveled to Salem College and faced a really solid Spirits team. The Owls found themselves down early as they went into the half 3-0. Coach Lydia Vandenbergh stated, "We allowed them to have the better of play and after the first 20 minutes they got on the board. After they scored we settled down and had some good sequences that got us shots on goal." In the 54th minute senior Marisa Romeo made a great 20-yard shot in the upper 90 to put the score at 3-1 and it gave the Owls momentum.
3 fouls that lead to 3 goals were the Achilles heel for the Owls as they fell to Salem College 5-1.
This loss puts the Owls at 1-1-0 for the season. The Owls return to action September 6th as they travel to Patrick Henry Community College. Kickoff is at 1:00 PM. Go Owls!
