Owls and Eagles battle in tough extra time battle in the final game of the season.
On a beautiful fall afternoon the Owls met the Eagles in the final game of 2014.
Toccoa got the scoring started on a goal from Olivia Stands in the 16th minute. But the Owls would answer on a corner kick by Marisa Romeo in the 34th. Romeo put the ball in the box and Audrey Vanderboon put it in the back of the net for her first goal of the season.
It looked like the teams would head into the half level but Lizz Rice fired a rocket past Wilson keeper Clare Williams in the 43rd off a deflection to give Toccoa the 2-1 advantage.
The game would become more defensive in the second half but the Owls fought back in the 85th. Bianca Canizio went around two defenders and found Marisa Romeo who scored to level the game 2-2.
The game remained tied into the 94th minute when Stands struck again for the game winner.
The Owls outshot the Eagles 16-12. Today's game marks the second straight meeting with Toccoa where the Owls have held the shot advantage and lost.
Toccoa finishes the season 9-9-1. Warren Wilson wraps up 2014 at 6-8-1.
Today was the final game for Norah Livingston and Kendra Orians, both seniors for the Owls.
