Owls Ty Johnson hits big three, Timmy Johnson scores game winning free throws.

It was all Owls in the first half as Wilson jumped out to a quick 20-4 lead and had their biggest lead at 26-6 about mid-way through the first half. Piedmont went into the bonus and was able to close the game to 35-29 at the half.

The Owls and Bruins battled in a hard-fought second half. Although the Owls led for most of the game and second half the Bruins tied it a number of times, first at 42-42 and then late at 62-62. Piedmont took its first lead of the game at 64-63 with a few minutes remaining.

The Bruins would go up by three late. Then with 29.4 seconds left to go Ty Johnson hit a game-tying three pointer to even the game at 63-63. Piedmont would get a quick bucket out of a time out to lead 66-66. Then Ty Johnson got a steal and hit a lay-up to put the Owls ahead 68-66 with 13.2 seconds.

The Bruins would get a jumper to tie the game at 68-68. Then Timmy Johnson pushed the ball up the court and was fouled with 2.6 seconds on the clock. Johnson hit both free-throws and the Owls escaped with a big victory.

Warren Wilson has a 2-2 record and will return home for the first time this season on Friday against Mid-Atlantic Christian. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
