Asheville, NC - The Owls lost today 5-2 against the NC Weslyn Battling Bishops.
The game started with the Battling Bishops getting off to an aggressive start putting away their first goal of the match by Abby Pawley at the1:14 mark. Both teams settled in to play as the first half ended 1-0.
The second half started similar to the first where in the 47th minute Chelsea Laurens had a nice finish off the assist from LeAnnza Ussery.
Sara Olsowsk added to the Owls deficit by putting the Bishops third away at 50:38.
All hope looked lost until Bianca Canizio finished off of a pass from Marissa Romeo bringing the score 3-1. The end of the second half was filled with goals as Abbey Pawley finished off her hat-trick with back to back goals at 66:03 and 75:36 putting on the finishing touches.
The Owls managed to force a goal with their never say die attitude at the 84th minute as Audrey Vanderboon set up Bianca Canizio for her second of the game. The final score was 5-2.
The Owls go on the road to face West Virginia Tech on September 17th at 7.00pm.
