WWC Men' Soccer drops home match to Toccoa Falls

Asheville, NC - The Warren Wilson Owls lost today, 1-4 against Toccoa Falls College.

This brings Warren Wilson to an overall record of 1-5 and Toccoa Falls to an overall record of 2-5.

The game started strong for both teams with equal opportunities and possession until Stephen Lee put Toccoa up 1-0 at the 12 minute mark.

The Owls responded with persistent attack and after a great throw in from Enrique Timas 25 minutes in to the first half Jackson Grimm assisted William Kissane to tie the game up 1-1.

In the second half it was a similar story, the Fighting Owls created many opportunities but just failed to put a shot away. Allen Salazar, Jackson Grimm and Enrique Timas continued to put pressure on Toccoa's defense but at 63:29 Josh Gailer had an opening and got the finish giving Toccoa their second goal.

Toccoa scored a third goal from Michael Howell at 80:13 with a great break away finish. The final score came at the 86th minute when off a Toccoa cross, Warren Wilson College failed to control the ball and knocked it in for an own goal.

The men's soccer team travels to play Columbia International on September 17th at 7:00pm.
